IoT based Smart Metering System

Abstract: The emerging IoT concept recently in our lives, has offered the chance to establish energy efficient smart devices, systems and cities. Due to the urgent need for conserving energy, this paper proposes an IoT based energy efficient wireless smart metering system design. It competes with the existing meters as being a low cost completely integrated metering system. It offers an ease for the users in the form of a database for the electricity supplier company. The proposed system design has an accuracy level of 98% and it is about 28% lower cost than its peer in the global market. The proposed design reduced the power consumption by 12%.
